Puzzle #1524, Mon, Oct 19. Today's song, hints first.
By: Julien A. | Last update: Oct 19, 2026
Spoiler ahead. This page covers the Mon, Oct 19 Bandle. The hints come first. Every hint and the answer sit behind a control you open yourself.
Bandle plays one song a day, an instrument at a time, over six tries. Stumped by Bandle today? Each Bandle hint below gives away a little more, from the decade to the artist, and the song comes last. New to it? Our Bandle game page covers where to play, the modes and our tips.
Bandle plays one song an instrument at a time, often starting with the drums alone, and adds a layer with each guess or skip. You get six tries, and the fewer instruments you need, the better the score.
The first layers say more than they seem to: tempo, groove and production give away the decade and the genre long before the melody arrives. Skip when you could only guess at random, since the next layer is often the one that makes the tune recognizable.
Bandle Hints Today

How to Play Bandle
How the clips build up, and how to name a song with fewer of them.
How a Round Works
The game shows the song's release year and genre, then plays a few seconds of one instrument. Type a title or skip: each miss or skip adds the next layer, over six tries. On the song in the figure, the sixth try was a written hint rather than an instrument.
Your result is the number of tries you needed. Naming a song from one instrument is rare. By the time the vocals come in, most players have it.
Three Tries From That Song
- Try 1, drumsBefore a note played, the game showed 1972 and Country, Rock. Use both from the first try.
- Try 5, vocalsThe voice arrived on the fifth layer, and 21% of players named the song there.
- Try 6, the written hintNo new instrument, a line of text instead. 34% of players still missed Elvis Presley's "Always on My Mind".
How the Hints on This Page Work
The six hints above run from the vaguest, the decade, to the one that names the artist. Each sits behind its own row and says what it is about before you open it, so you can take the genre without seeing the title's first letter.
Four Habits That Name the Song Sooner
- Start with the rhythm. The first layer is often the beat or the bass. Tap along and ask what tempo and style it suggests before you think of titles.
- Skip rather than guess blind. A skip adds the next instrument just like a miss does. When you have no idea, skip instead of guessing at random.
- Date the sound. Drum sounds, synths and guitar tones date a record fast. Place the decade first and the list of candidates shrinks.
- Listen for the hook. A riff or a bass line you can hum is often enough. Wait for the hook before you spend a guess on a hunch.
